How To Use Hemp Oil On Your Skin

You can use a small amount of hemp oil as an after-shower moisturiser, as a hair treatment or as body oil. My favourite way to use hemp oil is as a make up remover. I bet that sounds crazy – using oil to clean your skin! But it actually makes a lot of sense. At the end of the day you need to cleanse your face of general build up, excess oil and make up – all of which are oil-based. Oil dissolves oil, so the hemp oil actually breaks down these substances. I use hemp oil every evening and it leaves my skin fresh, moisturised and dewy. To use hemp oil as a cleanser, simply follow these steps:

Pour a 1 inch puddle of hemp oil into your palm
Massage into your skin
Use a light touch over eyes to avoid getting oil in your eyes
Wet a clean flannel with hot water
Use hot flannel to wipe away oil
Apply a moisturiser if needed

It is important to use very hot water; otherwise the oil will just sit on your skin. The hemp oil lifts away dirt and feels lovely on your skin. You can use any hemp oil for this, even if it is sold as a foodstuff – the hemp oil that tastes great on salads is the same stuff that’s good for your skin!
